Dr. Federico Mossa
Dr Federico Mossa, FMH in Ophthalmic Surgery, specialised in Ophthalmic Surgery at the University Eye Clinic of Oxford. He continued his career at the same University as Specialist Registrar, Honorary Consultant and Senior Lecturer responsible for teaching ophthalmology to medical students. For three years he was Vitreoretinal Fellow to Mr Paul Rosen, one of the most experienced vitreoretinal surgeons in the United Kingdom. For eight years he collaborated with Prof. Anthony J. Bron, Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at Oxford and internationally renowned expert in corneal surface and tear film, for clinical research at the Nuffield Laboratory of Ophthalmology. He worked with Mr JF Salmon and Mr JS Elston.
Il a ensuite occupé le poste de Chirurgien Vitréorétinien au Département d'Ophtalmologie de l'Université de Strasbourg. Le Dr Mossa a participé à plusieurs missions humanitaires en Afrique de l'Ouest et a été Visiting Vitreoretinal Consultant au Saint John Eye Hospital de Jerusalem.
He has published numerous articles in international scientific journals, including the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Archives of Ophthalmology, Eye and Advances in Experimental Medicine and Biology. He has presented his research at several international conferences. He has 25 years of experience in Ocular Microsurgery and has performed over 25,000 surgical procedures.
Accredited ophthalmic surgeon at the Établissements Hospitaliers du Nord Vaudois since summer 2011, he is responsible for teaching ophthalmology to resident doctors at the eHnv. Since 2011, he has been Medical Director of CEMO (Centre de Microchirurgie Oculaire), Centro Laser Ticino in Mendrisio and the Ophtavaud network comprising the ophthalmology departments of the Hospitals of Saint-Loup, Orbe and Yverdon.
